Trained as a publicist and having worked for large companies, Ana Fontes became an entrepreneur out of necessity – as is the case with most women in charge of their own businesses. Her first business was Elogia Aqui, an online company for evaluating services that she founded with some friends. The more she became familiar with the entrepreneurial environment in Brazil, the more she realized the latent need for information that most people who tried to launch an enterprise had. “I noticed that by sharing what I knew about the market and also my experiences as an entrepreneur, I could help many other women in business”, says Ana.

In 2017, she founded Rede Mulher Empreendedora (Network of Women Entrepreneurs), a social organisation that empowers girls and women in situations of vulnerability. Today, it is one of the largest support networks for female entrepreneurship in Brazil.

Rede Mulher Empreendedora has been a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) since 2017 and also one of Win-Win’s main partners for conducting research and a series of events on the topic.
